Very entertaining and informative, August 12, 1999
Reviewer: sheilarandolph@usa.net from Fort Worth, Texas
I enjoyed reading about "The Captain" and the characters who make up "The Crew". Although I have not had the opportunity to try the 5-count in a casino yet, I have tried it on computer simulations and it seems to work. Those of us (like me) who only go to Las Vegas once or twice a year for a vacation will probably be less inclined to use the system than those people who go once a month or more. The system requires the player to pay quite a lot of attention to what is going on, and probably will be impossible to use if the player has had a few drinks. If you are visiting the casino to relax and gamble a little bit, you may not be interested in this book, but if you intend to play craps as if it were your second job, this book will probably be invaluable.
Exceptional Advice, June 21, 1999
Reviewer: George Miller from Memphis, Tenn
Frank Scoblete is considered the best gaming writer in the business and I believe this book is an example of why that is so. He mixes great strategies, the 5-count, the supersystem, the low-roller system, with enjoyable anecdotes about the legendary Captain of Atlantic City and his Crew of high rollers. At the heart of the book is the very best system of play for craps that I have ever come across, the 5-count. I have played it now for several months, ever since I bought the book from Amazon.com. I recommend it to anyone who is sick of hearing "seven-out". Not a lot of useful info--no basis in mathematics., June 17, 1999

Most of this book is an anthology of the adventures of the captain and his crew. The only real betting strategies and information deal with the captain's 5 count technique that, though intriguing, has no basis whatsoever in mathematical statistics. Most of what the captain says is based in "feelings" and superstition. Also, the systems that are listed in the book are for people with sizeable bankrolls. Even if his system did work, you would need quite a bit of money to put it to use.
I finally won. , April 26, 1999
Reviewer: Danny from California
I have been a steady loser at craps for more years than I care to remember. This book finally gave me a system to cut my losses and position myself to take full advantage of the few good rolls that might happen in a given evening. I really recommend this book to anyone who has been experiencing those eternal downswings. The 5-count is a great tool and at last I am beginning to win back some of the money I've lost.
Better Than I Imagined, March 30, 1999
Reviewer: Dennis Symington from Toms River, NJ
I know that the general consensus is that Frank Scoblete is the author to read for craps but I didn't buy into that. I figured that he writes so many books that they must just be like assembly-line stuff similiar to other gaming authors who are prolific. I was wrong. Doubly wrong. . Thius man can write a book that is enjoyable to read an offers advice like nothing I have ever seen at craps. This and his Captain's Craps Revolution are two books that have changed my whole outlook on playing casino craps. The 5-Count is a stroke of genius, no doubt about it. I am now going to buy all his books -- I just love the way he writes. Scoblete is the best and deserves the accolades he's been getting from reviewers and readers.
Amazing System That Works, March 26, 1999
Reviewer: Joe Donald from Queens, New York
I have read or listened to all three Scoblete craps books and tapes that are available from Amazon. and they are just amazing. The system that the Captain has developed is no doubt the best craps system ever devised and although it takes discipline it is well worth it. I have changed being a losing craps player into being a winning craps player. . . It isn't easy but it can be done with discipline and applying the 5-Count, the most amazing technique for picking shooters to bet on. Get this book and get Scoblete's Captain's Craps Revolution and Sharpshooter Craps - they will save you a lot of money in the long run and like me you might even come out ahead. . .
I played "Super System" and won €2700, March 23, 1999
Reviewer: A reader from San Antonio, TX
This book is well written and makes good sense. I played the "Super System". The Super System allows you to wait out cold dice while capitalizing off hot rolls. I watched many players lose their bank rolls during cold spells, while I lost just a little. Be prepared for scrutiny from the older dealers, but remain true to the system and you will win. I won 7 out of 8 sessions. The one session that I lost, the dice were incredibly cold and never warmed up. Even the 5-count method could not help that. Typically, within two hours there will be a "hot roll". I can't recommend this book enough. Buy it. Learn the "Super System". Play it religously and you will win €.
Great Information and Great Fun Too. , March 8, 1999
Reviewer: Fred Engels from North Carolina
This is the first book by Frank Scoblete I read (the second is his Captain's Craps Revolution which I am also reviewing). The book introduces you to the Captain a man who has created several very unique methods of playing craps. The book is really very informative and has much to offer. Craps players should learn the 5-Count because this will definitely save you a lot of money when you play. You can read this book without needing to read Scoblete's second book but the two of them make a great one-two punch against craps. I think this Captain must be a genius.
Quite different approach to playing the game- works wonders, December 11, 1998
Reviewer: A reader from Woodland Hills, CA 91367
When I first reviewed the book, I felt that the book kind of rambled. I believe that the book must be read a few times to understand the subtle approaches to the game. The 5-count and doey-dont method works and works well. It is necessary to understand that in gambling you can have a losing streak. The book made a suggestion to keep track of your dollars, and if you are losing a few times without a win, walk away or go to another table. Conrol of the money and the game belong to you. I have practiced the 5-count and doey-dont on a computer and the system works. I am talking a boat trip shortly and will try the system aboard ship. I would recommend the book to my friends.

Answers All The Questions About Craps, December 30, 1998
A reader from Katonah NY
While some of the strategies are not complete, i.e., some circumstances are not covered, for the most part, this book gives a quick yet thorough view of what craps is AND how to bet. Many bets in craps are not good investments; he tells why.
